Public Safety
Public safety is my #1 priority. It is the basis for all growth. We cannot succeed as a city unless we are a safe place to live in or visit.
-
More police on the street (“feet on the ground”) in our neighborhoods
-
Community policing
- Crime information and enforcement on Internet
- Improve community - police relations
- Start a program like "ceasefire" - developed by John Jay College Professor David Kennedy. It has been successful elsewhere and it could work here.
Part of public safety is ensuring we have clean streets. Go to the Platform page to read more of my thoughts on clean streets.
